This Autumn the DVSA is preparing to roll-out its new site assessment for MOT testing centres across the UK. The general aim of this roll-out is to improve MOT quality testing and catch more cowboy fraudsters. MOT Manager speaks to our customers on a daily basis and they always have horror stories of their customers who have taken their cars to "other garages". It's not pretty.
The new site assessment will focus more on compliance and the test itself, with DVSA examiners carrying out more checks on recently tested vehicles, while a ‘site review’ will involve a shorter check on systems and processes in the garage.
The new site assessment will examining the following:
They will be rated either satisfactory, improvement needed or unsatisfactory. Testers will be able to see their rating in their profile but it will not be displayed to site managers or authorised examiners, although some authorised examiners may ask prospective employees to share it.
